Drink Pink with Chris Shepherd and Southern Chefs August 9
How does Chris Shepherd’s keep cool during the hot Houston summer? With a refreshing bottle of rosé. Underbelly sommelier Matt Pridgen feels the same way, which is why numerous bottles grace his distinctive wine list, with more hand-selected varieties to be added in the coming months.
Chris’ friends throughout the South share his love for the summertime staple, too. Two-time James Beard Award-winning chef Ryan Prewitt of New Orleans’ Peche Seafood Grill is one such fan with plans to have 30 bottles on his wine list this season. Other celebrated chefs, Michael Hudman and Andy Ticer, also like to think pink at home in Memphis, as well as at their acclaimed restaurants Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen and Hog & Hominy.
It was this shared love—and many a shared bottle—that led the four to collaborate on a special dinner: Respect the Rosé.
This multi-course meal will be a celebration of friendship, Southern cuisine and, of course, plenty of delicious rosé. This dinner will be Prewitt’s first in Houston, and Hudman and Ticer return after their sold-out dinner at Underbelly in August 2013.
Tickets are $150 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. Only 100 tickets will be sold.
